I’m all about saving money any way I can. I’ve been digging the Fetch Rewards app lately and wanted to share with you my experience with it so far.

If you’re a saver or couponer you’re probably already well versed with Ibotta, Checkout 51 and Savings Catcher.  Fetch Rewards is along the same lines with a twist. Check out my Fetch Rewards review below to see if this app may be for you.

Fetch Rewards Review

I’ve always been frugal and willing to try the latest and greatest app to save even more. There are so many awesome apps and resources out there these days to entice customers to save, in this case specifically on groceries.

I would caution though that the best way to use these apps is to save money on the things you were planning to purchase anyway. If you get caught up in the savings of these apps and find yourself purchasing items you wouldn’t normally just so you can claim another deal might be counterproductive.

I create monthly couponing reports where I keep myself honest about where I spend the household grocery budget. I also like to share savings tips and personal finance tricks that I’ve learned along the way, to help others save too.

Fetch Rewards Savings App Overview

To use Fetch simply save your grocery receipts and scan them with the app. You earn points to cash in for gift cards. It’s so easy! You can be a couponer and save money without having to clip coupons!

It’s an easy app to use for anyone looking to save money, but especially awesome for savers who are a little more passive, because you scan your receipt and you’re done. It’s less complicated to use then Ibotta, for example.

New to Fetch? Sign up and enter my referral code M2CNU and you’ll get 2,000 Fetch Points ($2.00 in points) when you complete one receipt.

What is Fetch Rewards?

Fetch is a free mobile app that gives you points for purchasing select items.  It’s one of the easiest grocery saving apps you can use.

How does Fetch Rewards work?

Simply open the Fetch app and scan a grocery shopping receipt. Your points are automatically calculated for you. If an offer available on Fetch appears on your receipt, you will earn cash back on it.

No clipping coupons or offers in advance, and no specific stores to shop at. It’s pretty awesome and one of the easiest cash back apps to use.

How to get started with Fetch:

    • Download the Fetch app for free and create an account (Enter my referral code M2CNU and you’ll get 2,000 Fetch Points ($2.00 in points) when you complete one receipt.)
    • Browse the brands and offers before shopping so you have a sense of what you can earn points on
    • Scan your receipt post-shopping trip
    • Earn points when you purchase specific products (sometimes you get bonus points for just uploading any receipt)
    • Cash-out when you hit a minimum of 3,000 points (equates to a $3.00 gift card)

How is Fetch Rewards different from the other receipt-scanning apps out there?

Unlike many of the other receipt-scanning apps out there such as Ibotta, Checkout51 or Savings Star, Fetch does not require you to purchase an item at a specific store. You’re only required to purchase specific brands, but it can be at any store so it provides more flexibility than other apps I’ve seen.

Sometimes with Ibotta, for example, I get so excited about an offer only come to find out it’s not available at the store I want to shop at. Not so with Fetch, you can claim all offers at any store.

Also, you don’t need to activate or add offers to your account before you shop. They are automatically fetched and added to your account if they appear on your receipt.

Because of that, there are no bar codes to scan, no commercials to watch and no surveys to take. So the time savings and convenience factor alone makes this app worth your time in my opinion.

Fetch Rewards Referral Code

if you use a referral code from someone (like me), you can earn a sign-up bonus after you upload your first receipt.  It’s simply a way to get you to try the app and give you a $2 reward for doing so.

Simply Download the Fetch app for free and create an account.

Then, enter my referral code M2CNU and you’ll get 2,000 Fetch Points ($2.00 in points) when you upload one receipt. Odds are you have a receipt in your purse or wallet right now, so try it!

Will you earn gift cards with the Fetch app?

The answer is YES! It is so easy and quick to earn points and you can cash out in as little as 3,000 points for the equivalent of $3.00 gift card.  All participating brands are listed by category in the app.

So it’s very easy to peruse offers by category. For all of the lushes out there like me, there are a large number of offers on alcohol. Yippee!

Where can I use Fetch?

You may wonder which stores work with Fetch Rewards? The good news is you can use the Fetch app at any grocery store, convenience store, club store, drugstore, liquor store, etc. There are thousands of stores you can use the app with nearly no restrictions.

So if you’re the type who likes to chase deals at multiple stores, no worry! Fetch can keep up with you as you don’t have to remember which offers you clipped from which stores. All offers are good at all stores.

What type of offers are available with Fetch?

Fetch offers rewards for purchase specific well-known brands. So purchase items from these brands and earn points. Brands include everything from Campbell’s and Lipton to Oscar Mayer and Miller. You are likely purchasing at least some of the brands offered on this app.

Fetch also has “Special Offers” where you can earn bonus points on specific items purchased.  Likely you are already purchasing brands that have offers, you simply need to upload every receipt to Fetch.

Pro tip: In some cases, Fetch will even give you rewards points for uploading a receipt with no offers. So don’t worry if you’re not sure if you have a qualifying offer, scan every receipt just to be sure.

How much are Fetch Points worth?

When you log into the app you can see the points each offer you redeem will earn you. As I look I’m seeing 150 points on the low end to 2,000 points on the high end.

Since 1,000 points are equivalent to $1.00, you can expect to earn between $.15 and $2.00 depending on what you redeem. Since this is simply extra cash back on top of any coupon savings you have had in store, Fetch is the icing on the cake!

How many points do you need on Fetch Rewards?

You can start redeeming your points for gift cards in as little as 3,000 points ($3.00). Since you’ll be using my referral code (M2CNU) when you Sign up for Fetch, you’ll already be at $2.00, plus anything you earn on the receipt you submit.  So, it’s really easy to start cashing in quickly!

What type of gift cards can I exchange for my points?

Reward options are categorized by type. Everything ranging from entertainment from Regal Theaters to fashion from the Banana Republic is available.

Because earning points is so easy, it doesn’t take long to earn enough points to cash in for a $3, $5 or $10 or even bigger gift card. Think gifts, think Christmas Shopping, think shopping for yourself. It’s so easy to earn and very easy to cash in points for cards.

Is Fetch Better than Ibotta?

It’s a personal answer that likely differs for everyone. I like using both. I like the simplicity of Fetch where you can simply upload a receipt and that’s it.

Ibotta typically makes you clip offers in advance so a few more hoops to jump through. The best is when there is an offer that is on BOTH Fetch and Ibotta, and you can cash in on both! cha-ching!

Do Fetch points expire?

Yes! The goal is to be active on the app and upload every receipt you can. If you are not active on the app for 90 days, your points will expire. Inactive means you have not uploaded a receipt in the last 90 days. Use the app after every shopping trip and you’ll be fine.

Things to remember when using Fetch:

      • The Fetch Rewards app is combinable with any of the other couponing apps you are using such as Checkout51, Ibotta, Saving Star, etc. So if the stars align, you could cash in on multiple apps from the same shopping trip: cha-ching!
      • Offers are combinable with any of the coupons you regularly use in-store.
      • Stay active on the app; if you are inactive for 90 days, your existing points will expire.
      • Sign up for Fetch and enter my referral code M2CNU and you’ll get 2,000 Fetch Points ($2.00 in points) when you complete one receipt.

Final thoughts

I love the Fetch Rewards app and think it’s a no-brainer for those looking to save more when going to the store. This is a perfect app for someone interested in saving money, but not the type of cut physical coupons. It can’t get any easier: simply scan Every. Single. Receipt and earn points!
